This talented trio, hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio, displays an impressive vocal smoothness on their self-titled debut release. With a polish not always apparent on debut albums, III Frum Tha Soul delivers strong R&B tracks with street-credible beats and church-worthy harmonies. The first single, "Black Superman," combines '90s hip-hop/funk jeep beats with confident lyrics bursting with sexual overtones. The album opens with "You Played Me," which is produced and composed by Gerald Levert and Tony Nicholas. The infectious mid-tempo jam keeps your head nodding long after the track is over. Some other high points are "Come On," "Treat You Right" and "My Body."
